WARNING...this book could cause you to lose your Thursdays because you will want to attend Fat Club!! At this point I have read all three books in this group and loved all three! I would describe them as "happy books". When I read this one I found myself often smiling and laughed out loud a few times. I love all of the characters, they are well defined so you will become attached to each of them. I saw a low star review where the person couldn't figure out where the store was heading so quit reading a third of the way...their loss. The story is heading to daily life and friendships and relationships...nothing seriously dramatic or disheartening...happy! I highly recommend this book and the two others if you want to sit, relax and read a good story with fun and loveable characters.Tags : Friends Like These - Kindle edition by Hannah Ellis. Friends Like These edition by Hannah Ellis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is not usually the type if book I read. But it sounded cute so I decided to give it a try not really expecting to finish it. I was pleasantly surprised. I read it in one setting. The characters are every one fun and likeable. The writing is very good (don't know if the writer writes other genre but I think she is capable of writing anything she would want). You can get the story in the book description but the story is not real complicated but interesting - a look at nice people who care about each other. I liked the book so much I ordered the sequels.
Very cute youth book, I usually don't read this type of book but it was a free one click so I had to try it. It made me laugh and the characters are enjoyable. You will enjoy this book
I read this book this summer and I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. It is a perfect light summer read. The characters are very funny and well thought out with real life problems that many of us can relate to. This book is a good reminder that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Cant wait to read more from this author.
There were many grammatical errors in this book that could have been easily identified at editing. I thought It was a very difficult book to read.
I thoroughly enjoyed our protagonist in this book! The author captures an easy flow of dialogue and created a main protagonist who is funny a witty gal who wouldn't pass up a offer for tequila or a step outside the norm of typical friend profiles. A nice easy read with some laughs and characters with character. This is not my typical genre of literature but I admit to totally loving this book. Friends Like These
Not necessarily and outstanding book, but I really enjoyed this little treat. I liked Marie, the main character, and enjoyed watching her grow as she developed new friendships when her best friend moved away.
Friendships come in a variety of ways and how we become friends is often inexplainable. That is what Marie had to discover about her friends especially when her friends, and what type of people they are, was questioned.
With the book being set in England, I also enjoyed the touches of British life. I might look into reading other books by this author....wonder if she returns to this group as it would be entirely possible.
For the grammar but in me, I did catch some typos, but I managed to keep in reading.
I found this book to be laugh-out-loud funny. Marie went through a crazy series of events to find herself with a new friend group. It was a crazy story that I enjoyed until the very last page. The version I read needs another proof read however - the last half had quite a few errors. Not so much spelling but problems with a letter being left off the end of a word or sentences a bit wonky. The story was so good that I persevered and perhaps these have been fixed in newer version? I would have given it 5 stars if not for those errors which were a little distracting.
